Happening NOW: We’re tracking Hurricane Milton that is expected to intensify while it moves across the Gulf of Mexico—with the potential of becoming major hurricane on Monday.

Hurricane Milton will reach Category 2 status early Monday and, by Monday afternoon, upgrade to Category 3, but the strengthening doesn’t stop there. On Tuesday, Milton can reach Category 4 status with winds at 140 -145 mph.

Hurricane Milton continues to strengthen across the Gulf of Mexico becoming a major hurricane.

Milton is forecasted to make landfall as Category 3 on Wednesday, but despite its category, it will have devastating impacts across the Florida Peninsula.

After Milton moves over Florida, it will track into the Atlantic, potentially impacting Bermuda by the weekend.

Milton will continue into the Atlantic likely bringing impacts to Bermuda by the weekend.

Heavy rainfall is already expected ahead of any development bringing more risk to areas that were already hit hard by Hurricane Helene.

We’ll continue to track the risk of flash flooding, life-threatening storm surges and damaging winds across the Florida Peninsula.
